Nurse Educators

Nurse Educators Program Overview

It is widely accepted that Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF) are leading providers of quality health care in the United States.  Given this fact, dynamic and results-oriented leaders are essential.  Nurse Educators serve a vital role in providing continuing education to address staff and staff skill competencies.

The Foundation for Quality Care, Inc. (an affiliate of the New York State Health Facilities Association) has been awarded a New York State health Workforce Retraining Initiative grant for the Nurse Leadership Institute (NLI).  The Nurse Educator course is an initiative of that grant.  This course will provide the opportunity to learn new skills, fine-tune existing knowledge, explore value-based leadership, and make operational the skills and competencies that are needed to be a Nurse Educator in today’s SNF setting.  Experts from academia, the nurse labor organizations, quality assurance and skilled nursing facilities are serving as members of the NLI Advisory Committee.
