The Ruth E .Stafford Scholarship Fund was first established in 1992 to provide financial support to nursing students pursuing careers in long term care. It provides for multiple $1000 scholarships annually for individuals entering or completing the Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse requirements for licensure.  The Foundation for Quality of Care, a subsidiary corporation of the New York State Health Facilities Association (NYSHFA), administers the Ruth E. Stafford Nurse Scholarship Fund Program.

 

The Foundation for Quality Care awards both Ruth E. Stafford Scholarships at the Annual NYSHFA convention each year in June. Applications can be submitted to the Foundation from September of each year until early February. Then selection are made by the NYSHFA Clinical and Quality Services committee.
